Three Decades of Lift Station Experience Across Stanislaus, Sacramento, and San Joaquin Counties

At A1 Septic Service we've been servicing and installing lift stations across the Central Valley for over 30 years. In that time, we've worked on everything from small residential pump stations serving single-family homes to large commercial wet wells handling hundreds of gallons per minute.

We've seen what happens when routine maintenance gets skipped: grease-coated floats that stop responding, pump impellers jammed with debris, control panels that fail silently - and then the emergency call that costs ten times what a cleaning would have. Our goal is simple: keep you off that call list by staying ahead of every problem.

Every technician on our crew is trained to service, diagnose, and repair the full range of lift station configurations found in California. We bring specialized vacuum equipment, hydro-jetting machines, and a complete inventory of replacement parts to every job.

Personalized Service and Accurate Estimates for Modesto, Turlock, Sacramento, Elk Grove, Stockton, Lodi, and Surrounding Areas

No two lift stations are the same. Flow rates, wet well dimensions, pump types, and usage patterns all vary — and so does the right maintenance approach. That's why A1 Septic Service offers free onsite evaluations for every new client. We inspect your system in person, assess its current condition, and deliver a clear written recommendation and fixed-price quote.

We serve the entire Central Valley: Modesto, Turlock, Stanislaus County, Sacramento, Elk Grove, Stockton, Lodi, and all surrounding communities. Whether you manage a single residential property or a multi-site commercial operation, we have the crew and equipment to service your system on a schedule that works for you.

Max, Alex, and Phillip were great! They used their mini excavator to dig up my old redwood septic tank and pump it out. They were very careful not to harm it. They were happy to answer questions. The tank was under my lawn Max was careful to dig up the lawn so as they could replant the grass like you would sod. They were friendly and worked together like a team.
I am very satisfied with their work and would gladly use them again.

Phil was very helpful. He tried to help out with our problem. I would have gave a tip but wasn't sure if it was aloud. I was also wondering if Phil was single. I know that's not very business like. But I found him to be very attractive. I loved his attitude. Very nice. He saw me at my worst but was hoping he could see me in a better light.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does a lift station need to be cleaned?

For most residential properties, annual cleaning is sufficient to keep the system running reliably. High-usage properties — apartment complexes, restaurants, retirement communities, and commercial buildings — typically require more frequent service, often every three months. We'll evaluate your system during a free onsite visit and recommend the right schedule for your specific situation.

What are the signs that my lift station needs service?

Common warning signs include an alarm light or buzzer activating, slow or gurgling drains throughout the property, sewage odors near the station, or visible backups in the lowest fixtures. Any of these symptoms warrant an immediate inspection. The earlier you call, the more likely we can resolve the issue without emergency-level repairs.

What does a lift station cleaning involve?

Our technicians arrive with a vacuum tanker and hydro-jetting equipment. We pump out all liquid from the wet well, then use high-pressure water jets to clean the interior walls, pumps, and float switches of all grease, debris, and buildup. The remaining liquid and solids are then fully pumped out and legally disposed of. The entire process typically takes 2–4 hours depending on system size and condition.

Do I need a permit to install or replace a lift station?

Yes — in most California jurisdictions, lift station installation and major repairs require permits from the local building or environmental health department. A1 Septic & Excavating manages the entire permit process on your behalf. We prepare the documentation, submit the applications, and coordinate inspections so your project stays compliant from start to finish.

How do I get on a regular maintenance schedule?

Simply contact us to schedule a free onsite evaluation. We'll assess your system's current condition and usage demands, then recommend a maintenance interval that keeps you protected. Once you're on our schedule, we handle all the reminders — you'll never have to worry about forgetting a service appointment again.
